Is my donation to Impact Central Illinois tax deductible?
Yes, contributions are tax deductible. Impact Central Illinois is a non-profit organization exempt from federal taxes under U.S. Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
How long is my membership valid?
Each $1,100 donation provides membership for the current grant year, which is 7/1 - 6/30. Membership continues year-to-year as long as we receive your annual donation by 11/15 prior to the upcoming June grant awards.
What are my obligations if I join?
There is no time commitment required for Impact Central Illinois. Our only requirements is a $1,100 donation. You have the option to serve on one of the committees however, it is not mandatory.
How can I help recruit my friends to join?
We grow by word of mouth! Thank you for telling other women who are fellow givers in our community about Impact Central Illinois. Our membership recruitment season is during the summer and fall, and we have many "Bring a Friends events" you can invite people to our help us at the event. Please contact membership@impactcentralillinois.org.
How is my donation distributed?
$1,000 of every donation goes directly towards funding the annual grant. The remaining $100 goes towards administrative fees and other costs to run Impact Central Illinois.
When do you award the grants?
We award the grants at our Annual Meeting in June of each year. Each member gets one vote.
My check will be sent by my bank or a Donor-Advised Fund. What info do I need and where do I send the check?
We have many members who send checks from DAFs or IRAs or direct their banks to print and mail a check. Our mailing address is Impact Central Illinois PO Box 3222, Peoria, IL 61612. For DAFs, you may also need our Tax ID number (or EIN) 83-3096726. If possible, please direct them to add your name to a memo area on the check so we know the member it is from and who to thank!
What are the focus areas for grant submissions?
We will be reviewing grants from three main areas of need in the community:
- Education & Community Development
- Social Services & Basic Needs
- Health & Community Well-Being
What restrictions apply for faith-based or political organizations?
Any 501(c)3 organization satisfying the grant guidelines and with a program within the scope of our funding guidelines may apply for funding to support social outreach and charitable service programs that benefit the community at large. Impact Central Illinois does not require the organization to refrain from incorporating its foundational ideology of justice and charity in its program methodology, activities, or facilities which serve the community at large. However, as a collective giving organization, Impact Central Illinois reserves the right to determine the finalists and grant recipients based upon full disclosure of that ideology.
